Port Townsend Aidirondack
An Adirondack-inspired chair crafted from Alaskan Yellow Cedar...the “Port Townsend”. A client commissioned me to build her a chair styled after one in her favorite Port Townsend, WA coffee shop. I made a few tweaks that slim down the profile, and used primarily mortise and tenon joinery (often reserved for higher-end, interior furniture) to avoid screws and plugs.
The natural color of the yellow cedar is brought out with the clear, durable finish.
